Hope Run/Walk 5k September 7, 2018
The Hope Run/Walk 5K was a huge success! Many membersof the community came out and supported the ongoing campaign to bring awareness to Suicide and Mental Illness. Each Runner or Walker received a T-shirt with the suicide hotline number, and the Safe UT app logo on the sleeve. Along with a variety of little trinkets, and an entry in the Raffle. The MHS Hope Squad spent the morning marking the route, setting up water stations, cutting fresh fruit and setting up encouragement signs. After the race, there was an opportunity to to win some gifts through the raffle. Also there was gun safe with a sign about suicide awareness, to make sure all firearms are put away in the home. There also is a grant for San Juan County so that if you need a gun safe they will be available to the community for the next five years. If you have any questions about the Hope Squad, Hope Run/Walk, the Gun Safe, feel free to contact the Youth Coalition, and the San Juan County offices.
